El nuevo Rey de toda Europa

Lo primero que me dijeron al conectarme todas las personas que por una razón u otra no están ahora conmigo, fue: "Xavi Vila es Campeón de Europa, ¡felicidades!"

Todas esas personas eran de diferentes partes del mundo, de diferentes paises. Y todas pensaban y se alegraban por la misma cosa: que el catalán Xavi Vila acababa de convertirse en el nuevo Campeón de Europa.

A Xavi lo conocí de una manera curiosa en el 2004. Por aquél entonces conocía a poca gente aquí, y uno de mis mejores amigos, y además entrenador, desde luego, era Marc Narciso. Me encontraba en Tarragona donde acababa de ganar el Magistral Femenino de Tarragona. Yo y mi amiga Lela estabamos a punto de bajar a asistir a la entrega de premios, cuando sonó mi móvil. Era Marc.

"Felicidades Campeona", - oí al otro lado de la linea. - "Qué máquina, no?" (Es el vocabulario caracteristico de Marc xD)
"Gracias... Bueno, y tú qué tal, cómo te fue en Solsona?"
"Bien... perdí con un alumno mio."
"Wow! Quíen???"
"Se llama Vila. V - i - l - a. Vila. No creo que lo conozcas, es muy joven. Pero es una máquina."
"Ya veo, ya..."

Al día siguiente nos ibamos a Barcelona porque empezaba Sants. El primer Sants para mí, un día histórico. Marc me había dicho que el joven-extra-super-mega-máquina Vila iba a estar también, y tenía ganas de ver su juego.

Ya en las primeras rondas empecé a seguir sus partidas con determinación. Su juego era demasiado profundo para su edad, y si tuviera que definirlo con una palabra, ésta sería "peligroso". "Tiene unos ojos muy inteligentes"- pensé. - "Y es muy tranquilo para su edad." Desde el primer momento me fijé en la postura de un ajedrecista con mucha experiencia que solía emplear al jugar este niño, y que tenía de costumbre jugar con un mechón de su pelo cuando estaba concentrado. "Tiene cosas interesantes." - pensé de nuevo. - "Es una verdadera máquina."

En la tercera ronda ganó al MI cubano Yuri González, y en la 4ª se enfrentó de nuevo a Marc. Esta vez Marc ganó. Pero el futuro Campeón ya había nacido.

Mi madre me ha enviado mis poemas :-)

Ayer mi madre arreglando mi dormitorio en Georgia, encontró algunos poemas mios, luego rebuscó en el ordenador y hoy me los ha mandado. Solía escribir muchos poemas cuando era pequeña :) Y en diferentes idiomas. Me encantaba escribir poemas. Ahora ya no los escribo. Supongo que las musas están de viaje :))

Este es uno de los que tengo en alemán; primero lo escribí en alemán, y despues de unos cuatro meses lo traduje al georgiano, que tambien quedó muy bonito. Abajo ponen las fechas exactas de composición.

Sabadell is over, Sopiko is leaving

I am back from Sabadell (Spanish Club Champs), Sopiko just reported about the events(click on the link http://www.sopikoguramishvili.blogspot.com/ to read it), so I will not re-report the same.

It was a very nice, very well organised event. Plenty of strong (2600-2700) players present. However, the first group of the Championship, which was playing in Mallorca, was crearly stronger.

We worked hard, the guys tried hard as well. Especially IM Jonathan Alonso was very successful, beating and drawing with GMs and IMs with much higher elo than himself.

Also he tried hard and did succeed in learning Georgian. We have got some interesting video material, which may be posted as well one day :-)

We´ll miss you Hari (Harikrishna) and Ganguly! Also Negi, Ubi, Vugar, Eugeni, Yahoo, Alexey, Zoltan, Dmitry, Sergey, Nidjat, etc etc. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Now I am very VERY VERY VERY tired, so that means I will sleep now. Tomorrow Sopiko will leave, we will be going to the Prat Airport at 13.00 where she will take a Barcelona - Istanbul - Tbilisi flight. Be back soon, Sophi!!!! We will miss you very very much too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will come to my chin

Son las 3.30 y no tengo sueño!... Y deberia dormir, ya que en este torneo he dormido muy poco :/ Y yo, como muchas veces me pasa, estoy hiperactiva, comiendo poco, y con muchisima energia. Lo de que estoy cansada, lo noto porque, aparte del agotamiento compulsivo a ciertas horas del dia, soy incapaz de dormirme hasta muy tarde (como hoy), y por la mañana me levanto tarde tambien.

En el torneo llevo 5,5 de 8. Hoy he perdido con Omar Almeida. Llevo un buen torneo. He ganado partidas muy buenas. Mañana me toca con David :/ En los ultimos torneos siempre me tiene que tocar o con las niñas, o con el nene! Jo!!! :)

El 26 hubo fiesta en Luz de Gas, como decia. Estuvo super-mega-guay!! La verdad es que me lo pasé muuuy bien! Me encanta jugar con música, de verdad!! :P

El match se tuvo que pasar al Armageddon, ya que ibamos empatados despues de 4 partidas. Alli me ganó Tomy y se proclamó Campeón de la Primera Edición Chess Music :)

Alex ha escrito sobre el evento tambien, podeis visitar su blog y leer la entrada entre los blogs de la parte derecha de este blog.

Todo va bien en todos los aspectos. Estamos disfrutando mucho el torneo y el ambiente, como siempre. Nos vemos con muchos amigos. Cada dia yo, Sopiko y David vamos juntos a la sala de juego. Mientras nosotros jugamos, Angeline visita la ciudad. Julia se ha ido hoy a Inglaterra; viene su cumpleaños (15 tacos ya!) y la vuelta al cole... ::)

Sigo inventándome palabras en georgiano, pronto editaré un diccionario propio, jejejeje

David co-leader at World Junior. Nice evenings in la Pobla

As I was informing before, David Howell is one of our favourites at the World U20 Championships. As expected, he is performing great. Yesterday he defeated GM Safarli and is leading the event with China´s Li Chao, with 4,5 out of 5. Today he is facing another Chinese prodigy, the 14-year-old baby girl Hou Yifan, whos elo is 2557 and belongs to the large group of "4-pointers". The games are being very exciting, watching strongly recommended!

As for what is new here in La Pobla, everything is well and under control. :) Yesterday I won again, so did Mariam and Sopiko. GM Azer Mirzoev is leading with 5, Mariam and I have 4,5. Sopiko is staying on 4 since she lost a very well played game against GM Movsziszian the day before yesterday.

Today I am playing Mr. Mirzoev on board 1 with white, Mariam is against Movsziszian, and Sopiko against my yesterday´s opponent.

Yesterday some friends came from Barcelona to support us. It was great to see them again. Everything is quiet otherwise. We behave, eat healthy, and sleep well. LOL :-))) I am not sure you should believe the first and the third point though... But the fact, that I have not been to the pub since I am here, should count I think. Somehow I am lazy to stay up too late.

Tomorrow there will be a simultaneous exhibition in front of the hotel, offered by Mariam and Sopiko. Many look forward to it.

Feeling sorry for Roi

Good afternoon!

I didn´t post yesterday as I was somewhat tired in the evening when we got to the hotel after the round. We did not even go out afterwards, because, it was also cloudy and murky here. The weather has been great so far though. We stayed quiet talking to our friends on the internet and then I played some games on Playchess instead. Although I was lagging so badly I had no other choice than to stop and wait until the wifi got better at the hotel.

I drew with Mariam in a worse position, and I have now 2,5 out of 3. The game of the day probably was Roi Reinaldo vs. Maurici Tarrago, Roi was better the whole game and two pawns up (without any compensation) when I finished my game, and just when I arrived to the hotel, my manager informed me that Reinaldo lost on board 3. I was astonished and couldn´t believe that. Then I went directly to the live broadcasts page for the tournament to see what had happened. A tough blow!! He had missed a two-move (quite attractive, though) tactical stuff. I felt very sorry for Roi, I must admit...

Today is Guillem´s birthday. He is our friend and Sopiko&Keti&Mariam´s clubmate. They all play for a Catalonian Club called Peona i Peó. This summer he missed a chance to visit Georgia and he will make it next year hopefully, we do look forward to it. :) Happy Birthday, Guillem!

Promise kept, Ir0n :)

Hi all!

I have just been asked by Ir0n a few minutes ago to also post in English. There have been approaches like that before, but apparently without much success, as I would put a few words, and then I would continue writing in Spanish again and again. Now I will take it into consideration, and more posts in English will appear. I have realised there are many who do not understand Spanish, and it would be so nice of me to make their lives easier! :-)
That said, I must recommend that also you learn Spanish, as it is an extremely beautiful and useful language. You are missing a lot if you don´t!

As for these days´news, I am right now in a small village in high mountains of Catalonia, called La Pobla. I am playing a strong Open Tournament here. For the moment I have scored 2 out of 2, as well as my nice and cute friends - Mariam and Sopiko (you can check their blogs on blogroll on right side of the blog). Unfortunately, Mariam will be my oponent tomorrow. I recall this happened last year too. It sucks... :-S But what to do?!?! We are professional chessplayers, and we do know it is important to deal with such happenings!

Everything is great out here, the village is very beautifull, very small actually. Everyone recognizes us, chess life is very active here. Many supporters come to follow our games daily.

There is also another very important fact there: the President of the Catalonian Chess Federation - Mr. Toni Ayza is playing himself. So does his younger son - Alex. David is the responsible for LIVE coverage. Actually Mr. Ayza plays lots of tournaments during the year. He is a very nice person. I have hardly met such an active and versatile President. He is doing a great job!

I will go to sleep now. Maybe I will post again tomorrow. I would like to also inform you that WIM Keti Tsatsalashvili and GM David Howell are actually playing the World Junior in Turkey. They are certainly our favs. :) Best of luck, guys!

Hola a todos desde La Pobla!

Hemos llegado este mediodia y he conseguido descansar un poco. Mariam y Sopiko están en la habitación de al lado, la misma que el año pasado :) Es una monada este pueblo, nos gusta mucho. En una hora más o menos ya empieza el Open. Lo que significa que os dejo, por ahora! :))

Las niñas atacan

Buenoooo, como dice Marc, ya ya dejado de ser un secreto, y aunque ya los he incluido entre los enlaces que tengo a la derecha, aqui tb los pongo pa que todos lo veais y luego no os quejeis :)))

Como ya sabeis, las niñas han creado sus blogs, esta es Sopiko, que seguro nos deleitará con muchas historias y fotos etc sin igual; esta es la Kitty, aka Keti, que nos asustará con sus batallas enérgicas y sus andanzas escalofriantes; y esto son las tres juntas, la Crazy Society, que os mantendrá informados de tooooooooodo, tooooooooooodo lo visto y no visto, y de lo más oculto, todo hay que decirlo. :-)

Mariam está preparando el suyo, aun no está listo, cuando esté ya os lo pongo tambien.

De momento las imagenes de la menda en el barro!!!!!!, han agitado al publico, jajajajajjaja, trankis que no me rompi nada :)))))) todo lo contrario, estuve muy bien alli en el charco :))) jajajajajjajajajajajajjaja
