I Need Your Help!

I posted this on Facebook and am posting it here:

Me or my parents would like to adopt a child who has lost his/her parents in Haití earthquake. We can give her home, food, love... and he or she can stay with us during years before his or her other family members are strong enough again to again take him or her back with them. Around 2 year old baby, if possible. Does anyone know whom should we apply for this?? Please give info!

Lots of kisses and love,
Ana

It's deeply generous.

French website : http://www.aep.asso.fr/Haiti_adoption.htm

- LA NATIVITE
- NID D'AMOUR
- LA BERGERIE
=> these are 3 nurseries where you can adopt children.

What I found on France's Foreign Affairs Website :
2 - Requirements for adoptive parents

* The single of either sex and married couples can adopt;

* Age: under Haitian law, adoptive parents must be aged over 35 years and in the case of married couples, one spouse must be at least older than 35 years;

* Marriage: According to Haitian law, couples must prove ten years of marriage.

* Adoptive parents must be at least 19 years of age difference with the child.

* The adoption is permissible in the absence of legitimate or illegitimate offspring.

When one or more of these conditions are not met, applicants must request a waiver, through the Institute of Welfare and Research (IBESR).

The Institute of Welfare and Research (IBESR), before the adoption file, may no longer grant permission when an exemption is required. In fact, I. B.E.S.R. must first seek the waiver, which will be co-signed by the President of the Republic of Haiti and the Minister of Justice and Public Safety.

Although the new procedure provides that the records with waiver requests do not pass through proxies (creche managers or lawyers), but through the institutional channel, the exemption procedure does not follow a path less long and complicated.

3 - Requirements adopted

Can be adopted one child under 16 years:

* Without known parentage,
* Orphan
* Declared legally abandoned
* Whose parents or legal guardians have validly consented to the adoption.

Miguel, gracias, amore!! Como me dijiste, preguntale a ese chico a ver qué noticias te trae!

Vincent: Oh, many thanks, Vincent! For what I can see, I cannot adopt, I am only 26. My parents should be allowed to, but I should ask whether they are registered as married or not :-) As far as I remember, they are not :)

Do you know how much time is it necessary to do all that stuff?

Again from France's foreign affaires website :
""The duration of the adoption process in Haiti has increased significantly due to a strengthening of controls by the Haitian authorities. It does not, to date, information on perennial delays. The risk of irregularities in its conduct are important.""

Also it's possible to be like a godfather/godmother by sending money to nurseries in Haiti.
It's also a way to provide help.

thanks again!

I think it should be much faster now in the situation they are... :/

AnnA dijo...

Oh, I asked my mom; they are regstered as married indeed :D So that would not be a problem...

Vincs72 dijo...

What's the news about the adoption?

AnnA dijo...

nothing at the moment...:(( I would like to everyone know that we are ready to adopt one, we just don´t know from where to start moving the subject...

Vincs72 dijo...

You can ask to Georgian's Foreign Affairs Ministry?

AnnA dijo...

maybe... do you think they might be involved?

Vincs72 dijo...

For international adoption from Georgian people it's its responsability.

Vincs72 dijo...

You don't think so?

Vincs72 dijo...

You don't think so?

AnnA dijo...

I think so... but should an international organization be involved too or...?? It is a very complicated thing... adoptions normally take around 2 years :///

Vincs72 dijo...

Do you want to imply CPA in that adoption process?

AnnA dijo...

If it would help, we would do that, of course...
